Everything is Better on the Bay!
About Garibaldi & Tillamook County
Garibaldi was incorporated as a city in 1946 and was formerly known by locals as Hobsonville.
Garibaldi was home to numerous wood mills over the course of many years, including the Whitney Mill which was opened in 1921 on what is now the site of The Old Mill RV Park. The landmark Smoke Stack was constructed in 1927 by The Hammond Company and is all that remains of the “Old Mill”. You can’t miss the old stack as your traveling along Hwy 101’s Scenic Oregon Coast Hwy! Even today, it remains one of the tallest manmade structures along the Oregon coast.
Tillamook County is best known for the Tillamook Cheese Factory and dairy farms, but there is so much more to the Tillamook coastal region!
Nature has blessed our area with some of the best fishing, crabbing, clamming, hiking, biking, beaching combing, camping and dining in the Pacific Northwest. You’ll find plenty to occupy your time while staying at The Old Mill, including train rides, rail rides, golfing, antique shopping, dining, museums and many seasonal events throughout the year.
